On April 18, 2013 the launch of the UN Economic and Social Survey of Asia and the Pacific 2013 of the UN ESCAP took place at the Center for Economic Research.
On March 29, 2013 there was held a media-briefing titled “Quality of human capital in Uzbekistan: employment and education” based on the key results of two research projects “Human Capital for Sustainable Growth and Development” and “Employment in Uzbekistan: challenges and prospects.”
The opportunities of conducting the joint researches were discussed with the mission of the Asian Development Bank
On February 15, 2013, a meeting with the mission of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) was held at CER premises. From February 14 until February 22, 2013, mission plans to visit a number of agencies in Uzbekistan to discuss the Proposed Assistance to Support Micro and Small Enterprises and Rural Development.
On February 7, 2013, CER hosted the round table titled “Towards a New Transition via Supporting Policy Dialogue” with the involvement of international organizations, donor agencies, embassies, and the representatives of the local expert community and state agencies. The Development Dialogue a joint initiative of UNDP and CER has converted into the regular platform for the discussions, exchange of ideas and the dialogue establishment among the representatives of the various stakeholders on the relevant issues of the development agenda of Uzbekistan.
CER discussed the prospective cooperation opportunities with the delegation of the Embassy of France
On January 31, 2013, the delegation of the Economic Service of the Embassy of France in Moscow, as well as the head of the Economic Service on Central Asia of the Embassy of France in Astana, visited Center for Economic Research to discuss the prospective cooperation opportunities.
The bilateral cooperation opportunities between Finland and Uzbekistan were discussed at the Center for Economic Research
On January 30, 2013, Center for Economic Research experts met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to Uzbekistan, Ms. Tuula Yrjola. Ambassador of Finland is visiting Uzbekistan from January 29 until February 1, 2013, to discuss the bilateral cooperation opportunities.
On January 25, 2013, Center for Economic Research experts met with the mission of the World Bank led by Mr. Jose Molinas Vega, Representative for Central Asia, Human Development Sector. The mission was visiting Uzbekistan from January 23 until January 25, to discuss the preparation process of the supporting documents for social area of the Concept of the structural transformation of the economy of Uzbekistan until 2030.
The cooperation opportunities were discussed with the United States Agency for International Development
On January 24, 2013, CER discussed the prospective cooperation opportunities with the representatives of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) “Regional Economic Cooperation” project, lead by Mr. Victor Prodedovich, Project Manager.
The new issue of informational and analytical bulletin “Uzbekistan Economic Trends” analyzes the dynamics, qualitative changes and tendencies that have taken place in the country’s economy during January-September of 2012. Presented in new, convenient and compact format (A5).
On January 16, 2013, CER discussed the prospective cooperation opportunities with the Asian Development Bank representative in Uzbekistan, Ms. Elaine Glennie, Task-manager of the Housing for Integrated Rural Development Investment Program.
