Urbanization issues provoked lively discussion during the Development Dialogue
On January 26, 2012 the Development Dialogue round table “Urbanization in Uzbekistan: issues and trends” was held at the premises of the Center for Economic Research featuring representatives of key development agencies and Embassies. Special guests of this Dialogue are Dr. Raymond Struyk, who acted as an expert of Urban Institute (USA) and Dr. Alexander Puzanov, Director of the Institute for Urban Economics (Russia).

According to the 2011 rankings, which are based on an analysis of the activities of more than 5,300 selected think tanks from all over the world, the Center for Economic Research (CER) in Uzbekistan joined the list of the Top 30 Think Tanks in Asia.

On December 15, the Center for Economic Research announced its Open day for University students. The event, being a logical continuation of a series of Open lectures in Universities on urgent development issues, featured students from National University of Uzbekistan, University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Management Development Institute of Singapore, as well as International Westminster University.
