Round table “Business Development Index – a Barometer of the Economy”

On July 9, 2009 CER conducted a round table discussion entitled “Business Development Index – a Barometer of the Economy” with participation of government officials, representatives of private sector, international organizations and expert community. The event aimed at discussing methodological approaches to calculating the Business Development Index (BDI) as well as collecting inputs for developing the BDI methodology that would help avoid the failures of previous initiatives on ‘measuring’ the business activity in Uzbekistan. It is expected, that BDI will become an instrument of public-private dialogue which would allow obtaining an efficient and timely vision of the current situation in the entrepreneurial sector.
