CER presented Publication on Green building

On September 19, 2014 four projects of the United Nations Development Programme in Uzbekistan presented their latest publications on environment projects implemented in the country. The event was co-organized by such projects, as "Promoting Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings", "Strengthening Disaster Risk Management Capacities in Uzbekistan", "Supporting Uzbekistan in Transition to a Low-Emission Development Path" and the "Supporting Modernization, Accelerated Reform and Transformation" (SMART) projects in cooperation with National partners, State committee for architecture and construction of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Center for Economic Research.

The event aimed at increasing public awareness of the wide audience, online and print media, government officials and international organizations on flagship publications and activities of environmental projects, implemented in Uzbekistan with the support of the United Nations Development Programme.

Environmental impact and consequences of climate change is directly connected to the socio-economic development of the country. Therefore, the new technologies introduced to save natural resources have great influence on the economic growth. The Publication, prepared by the Center for Economic Research with the support of UNDP and presented at the meeting by Research Coordinator K.Mukhamedkhanova - "Improving energy efficiency of buildings in Uzbekistan: directions for reforms and expected effects", raised a great interest among participants.
