CER discussed the issues of implementing new FAO project

On August 5, 2015 the Center for Economic Research held a meeting with experts from Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UN FAO). The main purpose of the visit was to discuss the possible implementation of the project "Building of national capacity and development strategies to attract foreign investment in the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan."

During the meeting, representatives of the mission, Ms. Ariella Glinni (Senior Policy Officer), Mr. Kuvatbekov Bapaev (Investment Support Officer), and Mr. Alisher Shukurov (FAO Representative in Uzbekistan), were informed about the institutional development of the Center, the wide range of researches, the management model of research projects, the communication component, as well as the main analytical CER products. Also, the participants discussed the development issues of the agricultural sector in Uzbekistan to prepare new investment project. In particular, FAO experts were very interested in a Long-term Development Strategy of Uzbekistan "Vision 2030" and in the analytical data collected for the research in the framework of the Strategy.
