CER receives two research grants from Norwegian Institute of International Affairs

CER researchers, J. Ismailov and K. Mukhamedkhanova, received funding from the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs for implementation of two research projects, i.e. “Influence of major trade partners on economic growth in Uzbekistan” and “Relevance of vertical integration and foreign ownership for company performance in transition economies” within the framework of “Regional Competence-Building for Think-Tanks in the South Caucasus and Central Asia” project. The aim of this initiative is to further strengthen the capacity of Central Asian and South Caucasian think tanks to operate as arenas for rigorous and independent analysis and to participate in political debates, both domestically and internationally.

On December 17-20, 2009 CER representatives will attend the advanced training workshop in Almaty, Kazakhstan and present their project proposals.
