Center presents Urbanization trends at the United Nations Population Fund

On October 15, CER experts presented key findings of its flagship project “Urbanization: municipal government and infrastructure in Uzbekistan: challenges and trends” at the Country office of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Urbanization trends, becoming an urgent issue in the country’s development agenda, are being deeply studied by the CER experts since 2008. The presentation at the United Nations Population Fund, which main activity focus is to study demography and population statistics, aimed at revealing possible opportunities for future collaboration.

The event was conducted as part of CER Communication Strategy directed to establishing participatory dialog among government, research institutions, and development agencies on urgent issues of socio-economic development. To date, a series of out-lectures, so called “Learning Hours” (informal discussions) were organized at the Country offices of international organizations.

The presentation was accompanied by the couple of questions from the UNFPA side, which further took a form of lively discussion.
