Housing policy in Uzbekistan: economic, social and urban planning aspects

The improvement of living conditions for the population has been and remains one of the priorities of state policy. As a result of targeted actions of the government, the provision with housing in Uzbekistan (the area of accommodation per person) is 15.4 m2.

The issues of provision, especially for young families, become a serious social challenge now and in the future. The real demand for housing among the population requires further expansion of construction, especially in urban areas, in order to balance supply and demand.

The aim of the research is to analyse the situation and to develop the recommendations for improving housing policy in the cities as a part of the implementation of urbanization policy in Uzbekistan in the medium and long term.
